EDSL’s History
(Having been around for more than 55 years, EDSL has a lot of history!)
We started life as a computer bureau in 1968, providing data preparation and processing services to SMEs. Following the development of powerful mini computers, EDSL eventually became involved in writing software for IBM systems, mainly relating to planning and stock control (MRP Solutions).
As technology progressed, so did our company. We developed a relatively simple yet powerful economical manufacturing solution that integrated with accounting systems. This proved to be a sound alternative to the expensive and complex systems of back then.
Twenty years later, in 1988, EDSL became a Sage reseller and developed our own manufacturing software – Sovman for Sage Line 100. We now offer our latest manufacturing solution – Solvitt for Sage 50 and Sage 200. We developed strong links with Sage and currently provide their full range of software.
One of the biggest benefits of using Solvitt comes down to the fact that it is EDSL’s software. We can openly discuss our needs with EDSL to tailor and develop the software - it feels the software is almost bespoke to our organisation and our processes.

It gives us proper product costing that’s completely integrated within the works order processing system. Solvitt does exactly what we wanted it to do.
